The campaign train of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Delta North Senatorial District was massively received by the people of Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State on Tuesday.
At Onicha-Olona (Ward 4), Ukwunzu (Ward 9), Issele-Azagba (Ward 5), Issele-Uku (Wards 6 and 7) residents of the communities came out to show that the party was on ground and would continue its winning streak at the 2023 general elections.
The Deputy Governorship candidate of the party, Chief Monday Onyeme, at all the places visited, thanked the people for remaining steadfast with the party over the years.
Chief Onyeme, noted that the PDP has continued to improve in meeting with the needs of the people.
He observed that the emergence of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as the Vice-Presidential candidate of the party has also, made it obvious that Nigerians and Deltans in particular would get more democratic dividends.
“We are here to thank you; thank you because since 1999, you have remained steadfast with the umbrella political party, the PDP.
“Thank you because you appreciate the fact that there is no other political party that will do what the PDP is doing for you; thank you for believing that by voting for our great party, the PDP, more persons will get political appointments, more roads will be tarred, more schools will be built, more people will be empowered that is why our Governorship Candidate, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has promised M.O.R.E for Deltans.
“Yes! Deltans are getting since 1999 but Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration will give more and our Governor who will be Vice-President, Senator, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, will also, make us to get more, your son who is going to the Senate, Prince Ned Nwoko, will attract more, your son who is the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, will bring more smiles to your faces and of course, Hon. Emeka Nwaobi will bring more from the House of Assembly as his colleague, our Speaker, Rt. Hon. Oborevwori will be the Governor.
“From me, you know as a lecturer, an Accountant, I know how to count money and I know how it can be judiciously used, so, you will get more,” Onyeme said.
The Deputy Governorship candidate urged the people to continue to support the PDP, stating that the competition was no longer about victory but about the Ward that will present the highest number of votes for the PDP.
In his speech, Prince Ned Nwoko said that as a Senator, he will work closely with the Presidency to alleviate the suffering of the people.
Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu and others who spoke at all the places visited listed the achievements of the PDP administrations and urged the people to continue casting their votes for the PDP.
The Chairman, PDP, Delta State, Barr. Kingsley Esiso, urged all members of the party to be united in delivering all the candidates of the party in the 2023 general elections.
He observed that while the PDP has a lot of delivered democratic dividends to campaign with, other political parties have nothing to campaign with other than casting aspersions on other candidates.
