The bill when passed into law would also eradicate stress to victims, witnesses and others involved in criminal processes as well as eliminate avoidable complexity in legislative framework which aims at reducing unnecessary delays and inefficiency of court processes.
On the other hand the bill for a law to require certain Procedural changes in the High Court of Delta State is seeking, to be the foundation for a comprehensive overhaul of the civil justice system.
The Bill when passed would build a culture in which litigants are encouraged to resolve their cases outside court except as last resort and it would also provide a court system that supports and encourages litigants and their lawyers to use reasonable endeavours to achieve early resolution of cases.
Meanwhile, the Speaker has charged Chairmen of House Committees whose reports are yet to be submitted to the House to endeavour to do so at the next sitting.
