The Delta State Administration of Civil Justice Bill, 2022 was on Wednesday, November 9th, 2022 read the third time on the floor of the State House of Assembly and passed.
The passage of the bill at Wednesday’s plenary presided over by the Speaker of the State Assembly, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori was preceded by a report presented by the House joint committee on Rules, Business, Legal and judicial matters and special committee on Bills as presented by its Chairman, Hon Charles Oniyere.
Motion for the passage of the bill, was moved by the majority leader, Hon Ferguson Onwo following the suspension of Order 12, rules 82 and 83 of the State Assembly to enable the House take the third reading and pass.
The motion which was seconded by the Member representing Warri South 1 State Constituency, Hon. Augustin Uroye, was unanimously adopted by the Lawmakers.
Commending the lawmakers for the passage of the bill, the Speaker, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori said that the bill when passed into law, would help in fast tracking the dispensation of justice in the State.
While saying that the bill is in line with international standard requirements Rt Hon. Oborevwori further noted that the bill would further strengthen the judicial system in the State.
